Hi, I’m Mary Jo Heyen, Chair of Megan’s Kind Community, and I’m proud to help lead an organization built on spreading kindness and giving back to our local communities. I’m passionate about supporting causes close to home, including our schools, Fire/EMS, food pantries, and families in need throughout the Northwoods.

I was born in Milwaukee and moved to Mercer in 1971 when my parents, Aranka and Ernst Both, purchased the Pine Trees Hideaway resort on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage. In 1981, my husband and I opened the Little Brittany Restaurant, which is now known as The Pines Restaurant and Beer Garden. After 45 years in the restaurant business, we are excited about the prospect of retiring and spending more time with our three children and grandson.
Megan has been part of our Garden cleanup crew for __ years and is always a joy to have around. I am truly excited to being a part of Megans Kind Community and helping her spread the "Be Kind, Be Nice" message.
